Kent's the Chemists, East Molesey
On the corner of Walton Road and Spencer Road. The proprietors are very kindly, caring pharmacists, greatly appreciated by the local community - and I have to thank them for having looked after my mother and stepfather in their old age. The shop itself is an almost miraculous survival, complete with mosaics and curved glass panels. A panel on the wall and an inscription on the glazing both say 'Established 1869'. However, that would suggest that the present building is somewhat later, and another panel (high up) seems to read 'A.D. 1894'. The lettering of the mosaics is distinctly jaunty - and the 1890's would seem a likely date. For a closer view of the shop window and mosaics, see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2777866
