Guildford Lodge Towers

Former gatehouse to Horsley Towers, Ockham Road South, East Horsley
The road through the arch of the gatehouse is now known as Guildford Lodge Drive. There is a notice stating it is a private road, with no access to Horsley Towers. The former gatehouse is a Victorian structure.

Horsley Towers gatehouse
The gatehouse to the former Horsley Towers dates from the Victorian era and is a striking feature as you drive east along the Epsom Road. It was commissioned by Sir William Currie, a philanthropist who rebuilt most of the village, hence the amazing display of ornamental brickwork to be found in East Horsley.

Pepperpot Tower, East Horsley
Detail on one of the two towers on the gateway leading to Horsley Towers. The towers are built of brick, flint and tiles - like many of the Victorian buildings around East Horsley.
