From Wool to Wood
Sheepwalk Lane in the North Downs near Horsley is no longer a drove road but is now a Byway Open to All Traffic (BOAT). It is occasionally used for modern forestry activity and by offroading motorists.

Erosion at Troy Bridge
Restoration is still awaited here to continue repair to the damage of time. A tree root here has broken through the brick tile facing on the bridge abutment and entered the flintwork below. The tree has already been felled - but the stump remains.

Sheepwalk Lane and Troy Bridge
Forestry gathering operations are centred today on the path junction west of this historic bridge which itself carries a former forestry track.

Briary Hill East Arch
One of the restored "Lovelace Bridges" which served forestry on the East Horsley Estate. The original brick facings were made locally in Horsley. The walls are of flint - unusually, they are not knapped flints.
