Mitsuoka Roadster in Effingham
T.H. White is the sole dealer who sell Mitsuoka in Britain, who make retro cars by hand in Japan. They make a number of models but after trialling the smaller Nissan Micra based Viewt at the motor show decided not to import any other cars than the Roadster.

'Crosslands', on the A246 at Effingham
There are features of this house which puzzle me. The barge-board in its big gable looks Victorian, but below it there's a rather grand Georgian doorway. The two don't quite belong together, and I wonder whether the portico was rescued from an older house which was demolished. In any case, this is a handsome building. I particularly like the way the brickwork turns the corner (into Beech Avenue).
