The New Line, Effingham Junction
The New Line was a new connection from Surbiton to Guildford in 1885, and runs south of the main line which goes through Woking. The train is heading from Horsley to Effingham.

Foot and Mouth Disease Map
Nearly 10 days out of date, this map at Effingham Junction shows exclusion and surveillance zones which are centred on farms near Egham. Effingham is within the latter - walkers are to remain on paths and all dogs are to be kept on leads.
