Admiral's Road
Byway across Fetcham Downs, so called because it was built to give Admiral Sir Francis Geary, who owned nearby Polesden Lacey from 1747 until his death in 1796, a direct access route from the Leatherhead turnpike road to his house. It is seen here where it crosses a bridleway connecting Great Bookham and Norbury Park, at the corner of a patch of mixed woodland called The Hazels.
