Ashtead Station
Originally built in 1858, the buildings were replaced in 1969 with a prefabricated structure, in turn rebuilt in 2013.
Seen waiting at the Up platform is 377706 on the Southern 11:07 service from Dorking to London Victoria.

Phoenix House
Building on Overdale close to Ashtead station. Now housing a Chiropodist, a building is shown here on the 1962-3 1:1250 map as "White Corners" and the 1 June 1971 edition of The London Gazette refers to a Mr Rosie "previously carrying on business at White Corners, Overdale, Ashtead ... as an Estate Agent". This suggests that it (or an earlier building on the site, given its current name), might have originally been the sales office for the Broadhurst/Overdale/Culverhay estate which was developed in 1935-9 and then post-War, with prospective buyers arriving by train at the station.
