Headley Road bus stop
Chalk Pit Road bus stop and seat on Headley Road: Chalk Pit Road is the turning on the left just in front of the white house in the background. The stop is served by Epsom Buses route E5 from Langley Vale to Epsom town centre. Next to the street lamp is a public footpath sign pointing down Greenslade Avenue, a private estate road. This is racing yard territory: there is a yard to the right of the stop, and another behind the white house. And Chalk Pit Road has been closed to through traffic, and is now mainly used by horses in training en route to the gallops on Epsom and Walton Downs.

Chalk Pit Road
Chalk Pit Road, seen from the junction with Headley Road. Chalk Pit Road cuts off the corner to join Langley Vale Road part way down the hill to Langley Vale. As can be seen, the road has been closed to motorised vehicles, and is blocked by bollards at the far end. It's now almost entirely used by racehorses in training, on their way between the local training yards and the gallops on Epsom and Walton Downs. To the right of the junction is The Junipers/Juniper Cottage, with Chalk Pit Stables just behind, run by trainer Olivia Maylam: one of several training yards in the vinicity.
