Summer Saturday Lymington Pier to Waterloo express passing West Weybridge
View westwards, towards Woking etc.: ex-LSW Waterloo - West main line. By the 1950's these larger D15 class Drummond 4-4-0's usually only appeared in London on Summer Saturdays, working the relatively easy job up from Lymington Pier, which catered for the holiday-makers from Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. This is No. 30467 (built 3/17, withdrawn 9/55). The station has been 'Byfleet & New Haw' since 1962.

Byfleet & New Haw railway station, Surrey
Opened as West Weybridge in 1927 by the Southern Railway on the line from London Waterloo to Woking, this station was renamed Byfleet & New Haw in 1961.
View north east towards Weybridge and London.

Down stopping train passing West Weybridge station
View eastward, towards London from the Up platform: ex-LSW Waterloo - West main line. The train is the 14.54 Waterloo - Basingstoke, headed by SR Maunsell S15 class 4-6-0 No. 30825, built 4/27 and withdrawn 1/64, but was preserved and is now on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The station was renamed 'Byfleet & New Haw' in 6/62. Note the array of electro-pneumatic signals.
