Walton-on-Thames: The former library
This building, at the junction of the High Street with Ashley Road, was once Walton-on-Thames' Public Library, and before that the local Infants' School. The library has been replaced by a new building in The Heart off Hepworth Way. The old library is locally listed, but, perhaps surprisingly given its unusualness with its little tower, not nationally listed. Current local council proposals are to turn the building into a community hub by 2013.
