From furthest to nearest, the shops on the right are a curtain shop, a designer dress agency, an outfitters, a tanning studio and an art gallery. It gives an indication of the type of spending patterns to be seen in what must be a very affluent area.

Church Stile House, seen from St Andrew's churchyard
Dates displayed on the timber-framed west range of the building suggest that that part of the structure dates from circa 1432, being rebuilt in 1624. As pointed out in the Surrey volume of Pevsner, the first-floor overhangs the ground floor, while the top floor overhangs the first - and such double jettying-out is a rarity in Surrey. (Double overhangs are more typical of Essex: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3539332 ).
