Ayr Police Station's new home
The police service was relocated to Newton House in Green Street Lane in May 2023 as the old building in King Street, built in 1975, was no longer fit for modern police work. See Image
Newton House started life as Newton Academy in the days of senior and junior secondary schools. With the introduction of comprehensive education in the 1970s, the redundant building was retained for local authority offices.
