Braveheart is watching you
The statue of William Wallace in Ayr High Street's Wallace Tower. The great Scottish freedom fighter spent some years undertaking guerrilla skirmishes against the English in Ayrshire towards the end of the 13th century.

Changes On Ayr High Street
Photographed in 2008, this was a different scene Image with Woolworths closing and the neighbouring sports shop, JJB Sports, in trouble. Wilkinson's took over the Woolworth building. The Bank of Scotland is still there, still reliant on its tax-payer bail-out.
