Drumley House has gone
When I last flew past here I speculated about whether the house was being demolished or restored Image - this image seven months later provides the answer. Thanks to Mary Hogg for providing this http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/site/205281/textcontribution/drumley+house/ , which indicates that the house was subject to a local authority compulsory demolition notice to make it safe. From that link it appears that the house was at one time a maternity hospital, then a school. Another http://www.ayrshirehistory.org.uk/WallstonToll/wallstontoll.htm reports that the original central part was built about 1800 for Robert Davidson - it was certainly there by 1815 as it was reported to have been shot at by a mob protesting about tolls, when the Walston Toll was burnt.

The railways are still open, carrying open cast mined coal. The track on the left runs to Ochiltree while straight on heads for Mauchline. The Ochiltree track does not look so well used.
