The monument is an impressively monumental standing stone of the Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age, some 3500 to 4500 years old, situated on high ground immediately to the S of Brodick. The sandstone monolith stands 3.3m high, and is 1.1m broad and 0.3m thick.
