The Yett, Manse Road
Yett is an old Scots word for a gate made of woven wrought iron bars. Although looking like a portcullis, a yett opened and closed in the traditional manner of a gate. Yetts were often used in tower houses or castles, mostly in Scotland. I don't know why this building has this name.
