Knox Institute, Kilbirnie, North Ayrshire
Category B-listed, designed and built by Robert Snodgrass of Beith in 1892. Gifted to the town of Kilbirnie by Robert William Knox Esq. of Moorpark in memory of his father William Knox. Officially opened on Saturday, 19th November 1892, the building originally housed three shops on the ground floor, a reading room, committee room, and the town’s first library on the first floor, and a 1,000 square feet recreation room, complete with Billiard table on the second floor. The library remained in the building until the current library was opened in 1975. In July 2019 a community asset transfer request was made to North Ayrshire Council by the Radio City Association Ltd. The proposed use for the building is a new social hub, supported by various local community groups, social enterprises and charities.

Walker Memorial Hall, Main Street, Kilbirnie
Hall and concert venue which in its time has played host to Bill Haley & His Comets and Gerry & The Pacemakers. Hall run by North Ayrshire Council. Also includes the Citizens Advice Bureau. Category C-listed sculpture by D W Stevenson erected late 19th century. Inscription on plinth reads - William Walker MD Born 1807 Died 1885. In grateful memory of a life devoted to the wellbeing of the people. 'The faithful physician'.
