New Houses - Sweeney Street Ardrossan
These new houses were built on part of the grounds of the "Shell" oil refinery which was demolished years ago. They also appear to have been given a new street name as this was the top of Montgomerie Street before it becomes North Crescent Road. As you can see from the sign on the fence it is now Sweeney Street.

Ardrossan North Station
Also known as Montgomerie Street Station, this view is from approximately where the station building stood, and looks north east where the line would take trains to Saltcoats, Stevenston and beyond. Partial platforms remain, but a coach depot now sits on the site of the station building. Beyond the bridge a housing estate now separates this location from the rest of the former Caledonian line.

Ardrossan North railway station (site), Ayrshire
Opened in 1888 by the Lanarkshire & Ayrshire Railway on the line from Neilston to Ardrossan Montgomerie Pier, this station closed to passengers in 1932. View south towards Montgomerie Pier.
