Crossroads on the B741
The minor road, on the left, goes to Cumnock. The other, on the right, is an opening to the now closed Knockshinnoch Railhead. Most of the railway track now seems to have been removed.

Connel Park
The B741 passes through Connel Park, a mining village. Today the coal related work is open cast, or restoration of open cast workings. There are no longer any coal fired power stations operating in Scotland.
