Marr College, Troon
Category B-listed. Architect John Arthur. Although completed in 1930, opening was held back until 1935 due to legal delays. Following the death of Charles Kerr Marr in 1919, a substantial sum was left to a Trust whose remit was to bring about the advancement of education in Troon. This led to the founding of Marr College.

Hic Patet Ingeniis Campus
The motto of Marr College, Troon, whose once-coppered dome has been green for many years. To some, the motto means 'Here is a field open to talent' or other variations thereof, but to others (who probably didn't take Latin at "Marr") it means 'Here lies a very clever camper'! Taken from the footbridge at Troon Railway Station. Part of Dundonald Hill forms the backdrop.
