Bentinck Drive
Elegant, red sandstone villas on a street parallel to the promenade. As is so often the case, wheelie-bins, the scourge of street photography, are prominent but colourful. The characteristic sandstone is of Permian age and much used in southern Scotland for more distinguished buildings.

Barry the Barrel at Troon railway station
Barry survived the fire which resulted in the demolition of the buildings on the Glasgow bound platform in July 2021. The path on the right was created during the restoration works at the station and is now no longer in use.
