Munlochy crossroad on the A832
With Tore ahead and Munlochy to the left, the right turn for Knockbain and Balnakyle takes you up a road that climbs to give good views over Munlochy Bay and provides a useful road to reach Culbokie and the Cromarty Bridge for those wishing for a quieter road than the A9/A832. Pheasant Wood on the right has been cleared away from the A832 road edge and replanted with deciduous trees.

In Littleburn Wood
While most tourists park at Clootie Well to look only at the Attraction, those who live nearby park there for the opportunity to walk in Hill o' Hirdie Wood, or as most usually called Littleburn Wood. There is a good path network.

Shopping walk: in Littleburn Wood
Littleburn Wood has numerous small paths and some wider tracks. A direct route out of the wood towards Munlochy passes under this tree but it takes some route finding to be sure the way will prove passable.
