Interior of Bracadale Free Church (Continuing)
A difficult shot against the light from the large frosted windows on the south wall, but it shows the still essentially Georgian character of this 1854 church with its beautifully-kept woodwork, and gallery supported on cast iron columns. For the church exterior see Image

Bracadale Free Church (Continuing)
Since Richard Dorrell took his photograph Image the congregation has separated from the Free Church of Scotland and now adheres to the Free Church (Continuing). The church, in the village of Struan, dates from 1854 and (as John Gifford points out in his Pevsner guide) is still Georgian in character. For the interior see Image and for a close-up of the notice board, see Image

Tourist information site
To quote from a panel within the stone structure - "This structure was commissioned by Struan Community Council and built by Hector Nicolson of Sconser in 2001 to mark the Millennium. With its double circular drystone walls incorporating a passageway, it is intended to reflect the construction of the Dun Beag - a broch approximately 2000 years old - situated on a hill 800 metres (1/2 mile) North West of here"

War memorial, Struan
This memorial is neatly and proudly maintained, and is situated on a public green in the centre of the village. The jagged peaks of the Cuillin mountain range are in the background.

Struan
Unusually for Skye - Struan has a 'village green' (just beyond the parked van in the photo). The green is complete with war memorial ( http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/830779 ) and tourist information feature ( http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/830795 ).
