Inverarish Terrace
Two rows of cottages were built in about 1915 opposite each other in Inverarish, with garden areas between. Half the cottages housed troops and iron ore miners, while the other half housed German Prisoners of War. Prison cottages were fenced off with barbed wire and two watch towers were built. Many of the prisoners were later made to work in the Raasay iron ore mine. The cottages are now privately owned.
