Inverness - 1987
Inverness, Caledonian Canal, Muirtown Locks.
SCOT II was built as an ice breaking tug by Henry Robbs of Leith in 1931. She is of steel plate construction and has a Kelvin T8 diesel engine. SCOT II is a one off design and build and is thought to be the oldest ice breaking tug in Britain.
The vessel was built for the Ministry of Transport for tug and ice breaking duties on the Caledonian Canal. She was then handed over to British Waterways who ran her until sold in 2005.

Inverness, Caledonian Canal near Muirtown Locks.
The Caledonian Canal is a canal in Scotland that connects the Scottish east coast at Inverness with the west coast at Corpach near Fort William. It was constructed in the early nineteenth century by engineer Thomas Telford, and is a sister canal of the Göta Canal in Sweden, also constructed by Telford.
