Not so very long ago, this caption would have read 'Mosstodloch Post Office and Post Box'. The post office is no more, and all that is left is the box. No doubt someone will be along shortly to tell me what type of box it is.

Mosstodloch Primary School
The building is as unpreposessing as most of its contemporaries, but at least the school which occupies the block is thriving. The green structure at left is the end of a long cycle shed.

Mosstodloch Service Station
These days the service station is branded as Jet. It's not the bonniest sight on the planet, but its shop is the only one in the village, and stocks a lot more than the usual range found in filling stations, including groceries.

Old Toll House
Toll houses are easily recognised because they have windows set at an angle of 45º to the road, so that the tollkeeper could easily watch traffic in both directions and be ready to collect the tolls from travellers.
