Off the cuff?
Now here is a rare sight; a crab with a multi-clawed limb! This edible crab or "partan" as they are known on these shores has just been landed at Lossiemouth and his uniqueness has spared him his life as afterwards he was returned to a rocky haven in the Firth. Image Image Image

One in a million!
He's been seafaring for 36 years but always expect the unexpected at sea. A closer look at this edible crab (or Partan as they are known on the Scottish coast) in Dan's hand will reveal that it has grown three claws on its port limb. Skipper Dan Flett of the Stroma has recorded this as a first and as a result this partan was returned to a secret location on the Moray shore. Image Image Image
