A Tornado approaching RAF Lossiemouth from the southwest
This evening shot was taken from the minor road to Covesea. RAF Lossiemouth is home to two operational Tornado GR4 squadrons, 617 Squadron – The Dambusters and No 12 (Bomber) Squadron.

Approach to Runway 05
The orange structures in the foreground are part of the approach lighting from the south-west to the main runway of RAF Lossiemouth. The tarmac of the runway itself is just visible on the skyline before it disappears over a gentle incline.

Fields near Westerfolds
This flat land was once the bed of the Loch of Spynie. The loch was drained in the early 19th century. Duffus Castle, in the distance, is just inside the next square.

A Tornado at 100 feet is set to land on runway 05
A Tornado of 617 Squadron completes a series of "circuits and bumps" at RAF Lossiemouth.From this configuration it is obvious that his intention is to land. He will touch down at a speed of roughly 130 knots.
