Balnakeil House
The house stands prominently at the south end of the beach. It was built in the first part of the 18th century, apparently on the site where the bishops of Caithness had their summer residence, and its future use is under discussion.

Plinth of rock with Balnakeil House
Balnakeil House stands on a low plinth of rock just to the south of the shore of Balnakeil Bay. The image recorded in 2004 shows the house in a slightly shabby state but it has since been renovated and is available as a holiday let - not cheap!
