Tiny shop selling craft goods, and incorporating a tearoom and a Jammery - that is, somewhere that makes jam!

View down towards the shore from the moorland at the edge of this scattered community. On the extreme right are the white painted buildings of the 'Jammery' where various tempting treats can be purchased.

Icehouses at Culkein
The icehouses were filled during the winter and the ice was used during the salmon fishing season to preserve salmon in transit to southern markets. The salmon fishers' bothy is above the beach.
