Culduthel Park, Lochardil, Inverness
A fine estate in a highly favoured part of Inverness.

Old ornamental pond in Culduthel Woods
This is a remnant of the fine landscaped grounds in what was once Culduthel Estate. The old manor house is now flats and this old artificial pond, whilst still attractive, has definitely seen better days.

Carved park bench
This beautifully carved bench now overlooks the kids' play area in MacDonald Park. A really pleasant place to sit, and I hope it survives any less favourable attention from the local neds.

Culduthel House
This was once a fine Georgian manor house, set in its own extensive landscaped gardens a good 2 miles into the countryside from central Inverness. Now, it's just another property opportunity having been swallowed up by Inverness' creeping expansion and sub-divided into flats. The landscaped gardens have all been built over, and only sections of the majestic forested areas remain today.

Between the woods
This is the strip of open land separating Culduthel Wood from neighbouring Stratherrick Woods. It'll probably have houses on it soon however, in keeping with the rest of the dwindling green spaces in this area.

The old road to Culduthel House
To think fine horse-drawn carriages used to trundle up and down here at one time. Still, it has a new beauty now nature is its mistress, especially in the light green dressing of early summer.
