The floating bridge from Dry Island
Dry Island is a part time island in Badachro harbour, and access is via this bridge. When the tide is out it sits on the ground, and floats as the tide comes in. Even when the tide is out it would be a somewhat squelchy crossing.

Gairloch : Badachro
At the end of the nineteenth century, Badachro was a busy fishing village. Cod, landed here and at Gairloch, was dried at one of two curing stations at Badachro: one on Eilean Horrisdale and one on Eilean Tioram. Today, lobsters, crabs and prawns are landed for markets in the south and in Europe.
