The location of the Eagle Stone
Here is the plain backside of the Eagle Stone - all the carving is on the reverse of this view. The stone is approached by a field path and is enclosed by a wooden fence. The stone location provides a view over the strath towards the Knock Farril ridge. The decorated part of the stone is illustrated here. Image]

Strathpeffer from the path to Knock Farrell
Strathpeffer is a delightful old spa town which rose to prominence during the Victorian era. Recently there has been a revival of interest in the spa town. If you are 'lucky' you can still find the pump room open to 'enjoy' the delights of sulphurous waters from the Morrison Well. Strong stomachs only!
