Dunbar's Hospital

Built in 1688 named after Provost Alexander Dunbar who endowed it as a Grammar School, Weigh House and Hospital for the poor under care of Old High Kirk Session.

Dunbar's Hospital, Inverness
Originally built as an almshouse in 1668 by Provost Alexander Dunbar, it is believed that he used materials from Cromwell’s demolished Citadel. It was also used as a grammar school till the opening of the Royal Academy in 1792.
