Great Bricett St Mary and St Lawrence?s church
Great Bricett or Bricett Magna church was originally a priory church of Augustinian canons at nearby St Leonard’s Priory, which was founded in 1114. The chancel had at one time two transepts. Many other changes, not always so obvious, have also taken place since it was built by the Normans. The scratch dial is probably Saxon and specially carved in the round. The Norman south door has the word "Leonardus" engraved in one of the jambs. The blocked north door is of the same date, as is the tower arch. The tower fell many centuries ago.
