St Mary Magdalene, Westerfield
Most of the church dates from 1300. The hammerbeam roof dates from around 1400. The church was reseated and restored in 1867 but much of the original fabric was retained.

Westerfield St Mary?s church
The single roof unites the nave and chancel. They are defined only by the moulded rood beam which ties north and south walls together. The roof structure is the original 14th century fine single hammerbeam. Angels look down upon visitors. This is a Norman church, and what was once the south doorway now forms part of the window with the chevroned arch mould incorporated into the sill and arch. More evidence of Norman origins can be seen at the base of the embattled tower and in the vestry. The font is of traditional East Anglian type. On the north side, a modern building has been erected, and while I hate this type of desecration of a graveyard, this one at least is in keeping with the church; or would be, if the church had not been horribly cement-rendered.
