This station was built from brick and Caen stone in the mid 19th century, by Frederick Barnes of Ipswich, in the style of an Elizabethan mansion.

Needham Market station building
A grade II listed building completed in 1849. Most of the building is now in non-railway service, entrance to the platforms being via the arch at the right. There is a similar arch out of shot to the left, but it is now blanked off.
