St. Peter's church, Henley, Suffolk
This church has a very attractive 15th century tower. Other parts of the church date from the 13th and 14th centuries. It is unusual to find a road running alongside the south and north of a church as it does here.

Henley St Peter?s church
The church has been heavily restored but the restorers were sympathetic and most periods are still well represented. Outside there are two scratch dials on quoin stones of the nave and porch. The 15th c. tower has St Peter’s crossed keys on the spandrel of the doorway. The south doorway is 12th c. with a pointed arch and chevron moulding. In the chancel, the piscina is contentious, as it appears to be a conglomerate of 12th and 13th c. pillar-piscina and stoup respectively. It is flanked by the usual dropped sill sedilia with cusped arches above and nicely merged into the window frame. Above the western door of the tower is an inscription requesting us to sing for Thomas Seckford and his wife Margaret. He died in 1505, and is not to be confused with Sir Thomas Seckford of Woodbridge.
