Leaving work at Woolworths for the last time
Two staff members cross the empty shop floor at Woolworths, viewed from the back door.
The turquoise wall was the site of the famous 'pick and mix'.

New roof goes on the Woolworth's building
Since Woolworths closed there has been what seems like a never ending modification programme. Supposedly the ground floor is being split into 3 shops with a fourth upstairs. Here we see new roof girders being lifted into place at what was the rear of the shop, in St. Andrews Street. The work was carried out on a Sunday as the road had to be closed.

Dancing fountain, carousel, and illuminated Debenhams
This was taken in Charter Square, at the heart of the arc shopping centre. The Debenhams store is covered in diagonal metal plates, and strings of LEDs are mounted between them - hence the stripes into the sky.
