York Terrace from Out Risbygate
This tiny road links Out Risbygate and York Road. It mostly provides access to garages and bins (the refuse truck being a very snug fit) but there are a couple of house fronts along it. Only the lack of traffic prevents it being a nightmare for pedestrians.

Tyre Centre, disused, Risbygate Street
I believe this site was originally intended to be a garage and filling station, but after planning permission problems it became a tyre centre for very many years. It has now been closed for years but look - no graffiti!

York Road in Autumn
The Tee Junction with Albert Street can be seen in the mid distance. All the roads in this area were renamed for Queen Victoria's silver jubilee. The tall house at the back is actually in Victoria Street.
The featured car is a Vauxhall VX220, based on the Lotus Elise.

It is a shame the Victorians who built this street did not make provision for each house to have carriage parking - the result in the 21st century is a car parking and 2-way traffic nightmare.

Demolition of tyre centre
Continuing my theme of tracking the demolition and building in Bury St. Edmunds, here we see the former tyre centre in Out Risbygate Street going in favour of an extension to St. Peter's House care home.
The site appeared to be designed as a filling station, with a forecourt for the pumps, but it never operated in this form. As far as I remember it has only ever sold tyres or used cars. It had a large shed with glass showroom/office at its front, in a sea of concrete.

Groundworks for care home extension
The care home, St. Peter's House, is being extended by building on the former garage site next door. There are several Geograph photos of the garage demolition. Work has now started on the groundworks for the new build. In the corner one of the owners is having a conversation with a builder.
I'm a bit puzzled by the yellow tracked vehicle - it does not seem to have any facility to dig or carry or push soil.
