The southern, drive through section of the bus station. The northern (drive in/reverse out) part, which contains most of the bus station facilities, is on the right.

Bury St Edmunds Bus and Coach Station
Bury St Edmund's bus station opened in 1996 replacing the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company's better located facility on Brentgovel Street which had closed in 1987. On this Friday morning, at least, it had a rather deserted feeling, no doubt built with a more intensive service in mind. Buses serving the town and the surrounding district are provided by a number of operators.

Mulleys Circular
A Mulleys Motorways bus waits at stand 12 of Bury St.Edmunds bus station on the M11 town circular route. The vehicle is a Turkish built BMC Falcon 1100 which looks strikingly similar bodywork wise to the Marshall Capital body produced a few years back for Transport for London. Mulleys fleet is painted in a mix of white and this garish orange which really catches your attention!

New library entrance revealed, Bury St. Edmunds
A new entrance has been installed as part of a major refurbishment. The hoardings have now come down and revealed it. Here it is viewed through the archway that allows Sergeant's Walk through from St. John's Street to St. Andrew's Street.

Bury St Edmunds bus station (2)
The northern part of the bus station is arranged in the drive in/reverse out format, and seemed to be handling the bulk of the departures on this day. In fact, the bus station seemed to be much larger than necessary to handle the level of bus service using it.
