Bury St Edmunds, St George?s church
St George was built in 1951 as a community centre, at the same time as the surrounding blocks of flats: The estate was built to serve the industry to the north of the town, particularly the sugar factory. It is built of brick with large windows, and a high pitched roof. In 1967 it was converted into a church when a sanctuary and lady chapel were added along with a spirelet.
