Stanton All Saints church
It is likely that at one time the tower stood separately from the church and was only linked in the 14th century when the south aisle was built. Until 1906 the tower stood 70 feet high, but it partially collapsed and was never rebuilt to its full height. Instead, a belfry was added to the consolidated remains of the tower. Beneath the tower is the entrance into the nave. A plain 13th century octagonal font standing on a plinth in its traditional position. It has a central shaft surrounded by eight small columns. The pulpit has a similar appearance. In the wall of the south aisle is a lovely 14th century crocketted angle-piscina which opens into the window reveal. In the chancel is another, less elaborate, adjacent to the three-seater sedilia. A tomb recess in the south aisle has some interesting carvings.
