New Cut, Ipswich
The 'New Cut', constructed in 1840, took the waters of the River Gipping away from the town's quays during the building of the enclosed Wet Dock.

Old landing stage, New Cut, Ipswich
One of several old landing stages on the west side of the New Cut. This channel was created in 1842, when the Wet Dock was built. The New Cut diverted the River Orwell, which had previously meandered through the town.

Felaw Maltings, Ipswich
Built between 1904 and 1911, these maltings were in use until 1981, when a severe fire devastated the upper storeys. They have now been fully restored as offices.
