Viewers of secret air show
After halting public air shows in 2002 Mildenhall USAF base decided to hold a tiny one this year for invited guests only. The news got out and one landowner at the end of the runway quickly reacted to accept campers and the cars of day visitors - outside the fence of course.
A hangar and the control tower are visible in the distance but sorry, no planes. There was not much action when I got there! Having missed the modern jets there was then a sort of recreation of the 1930s air race from Mildenhall to Australia too far away to photograph.

Gate, RAF Mildenhall
Despite the wording of the sign, the road appears to provide access to an Anglian Water installation.
Visible features on the airfield include a water tower, hangar, and the control tower. The car is on an on-base road that loops around the end of the runway.
