This range of three late 18th century houses are built in flint with gault brick dressings, partly rendered and whitewashed. In the mid 20th century they were converted into commercial premises with (left to right) The Old Mill public house, Rudolph's Nite Spot and The Old Mill Pizza House. What was the public house is now offices and occupied by a firm of financial consultants, the other two houses would appear to have returned to domestic dwellings. A major centre of Boudica’s Iceni tribe with an Iron Age fort. Later came a Norman castle and an important priory. Thetford is the birthplace of 18th century radical Thomas Paine, whose thinking encouraged American independence and the abolition of slavery. After World War II, Thetford became an "overspill town", taking people from London.

Although the name sounds like a pretentious cafe, in fact this old mill was once owned by the Ibex Coffee Company and subsequently passed to Twinings, the tea merchants. The equipment still regulates the flow of the River Thet.

Cobwebs seem to have taken over this ornate lamp close to the Coffee Mill.

The plaque on the left hand side of the building has the following information. Coffee Mill. Formerly owned by the Ibex Coffee Company, later sold to R.Twinning and Co. Tea Merchants. Although no longer a working mill, the machinery still helps to regulate the flow of the River Thet
