Thornham Parva village sign
Like its big brother (Thornham Magna) the sign was made locally and follows the same pattern. It depicts the chi rho above the church of St Mary and also bears the date of Queen Elizabeth II’s silver jubilee, 1977.

St Mary's church, Thornham Parva
Detail of the Thornham retable. Behind the altar is the Thornham retable which was found in one of the barns of the neighbouring Thornham Hall, which has since been demolished. The retable was restored in the early 20th century and returned to St Mary where it is kept behind alarmed glass. It is part of a much larger altarpiece that is believed to once have stood in the Priory at Thetford. The rest of the piece is on display in the Musée de Cluny in Paris.
