Eye War Memorial
The memorial bears the names of 46 men from the town who failed to return from WW1 and a further 14 from WW2 which can be viewed here: http://ww2.suffolkfhs.co.uk/search.

Eye town heraldic arms
The town’s Heraldic Arms granted in 1592, rather than a town sign which hangs over the door of the town hall. The inscription, OCULUS IN COELUM, translates as Eye in Heaven, or, Eye in the Sky. And all this time I thought it was Eye in Suffolk.
Describes thus: “Azure, a cross patonce between four martlets Or, in chief and issuing from the cross two branches leaved vert, each having three roses argent, upon the branches an eagle with wings expanded of the last, crowned gold. Crest: Upon an Imperial Crown Or, the cap gules, an estoile of sixteen points gold charged with a human eye proper. Mantled azure, doubled argent.” https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6756135
