RAF Fersfield - Site 4
Building #175, the Ration and Meat Store. Site 4 was where the dining halls for the officers, sergeants and airmen were located and where the commanding officer was quartered. A number of smaller buildings can also still be found here but all Nissen huts would seem to have long since been dismantled.
Update: Many of the buildings on this site were razed to the ground in July 2016.

RAF Fersfield - Site 4
Site 4 was where the dining halls for the officers, sergeants and airmen were located and this is where one of the mess halls used to stand, at the south-east corner of the camp. Only one brick-built end of it is still standing whereas the adjoining Nissen hut has long since been removed. The concrete platform is still in place, discouraging the surrounding vegetation to encroach too much, as is evident in this view.

An old winch
The tree is in the process of growing over the chain but it will take many more years before it succeeds.
