Empty land between railway lines, northwest of Ipswich station
This land lies between the East Suffolk line (from which the image is taken), the main line from Ipswich to Norwich (on the left) and a newly constructed curve, on the right, that allows container traffic from Felixstowe to head northwards and towards the Midlands without reversing in Ipswich freight yard. The land was previously used for a slaughterhouse and meat store, and as a result the newly built line is known as the Bacon Factory Curve.

Engineers Train at East Suffolk Junction
31245 heads a short engineers train towards Ipswich on the Diss / Norwich line. The industrial estate to the left of the line still exists, but the one on the right is bare ground in the current (2006) satellite photo.
